Sarah, a member of the NPAA Victoria branch attended a rally where she spoke about her health in the midst of COVID-19 and the challenges faced by frontline workers.

Sarah's boss, concerned about her public statements, reported her to AHPRA, leading to restrictions being placed on her registration. Sarah was required to undertake mandatory education and write a reflection report. Despite completing these requirements and providing thorough evidence of her efforts, AHPRA expressed dissatisfaction with the format and content of Sarah's reflection report. As a result, they refused to lift the restrictions on her registration.

Determined to clear her name Sarah contacted the NPAA for support.

Sarah’s assigned case manager disputed AHPRA's decision and submitted an 'Application for review of conditions or undertakings'.

As a result of NPAA’s advocacy AHPRA reconsidered their stance. They decided that the restrictions on Sarah's registration were no longer necessary and would be removed immediately.
