Michelle, a member of the NPAA Western Australia branch, found herself embroiled in a pay dispute with her employer

Since February 2024, Michelle's workplace had inadvertently been overpaying her. This oversight came to light when her employer informed her that they would cease her payments until the overpaid amount was returned. For Michelle, this sudden change posed a significant financial burden, as she was not in a position to immediately repay the overpaid funds.

Unsure of how best to proceed, Michelle reached out to NPAA for guidance and assistance. Michelle’s assigned case manager advised her to propose a reasonable payment plan to her employer.

With the support of NPAA Michelle negotiated a manageable repayment schedule that would alleviate her immediate financial strain.
