Relocating for a new job can be an exciting but challenging experience. Emma, a member of the NPAA Victorian branch experienced this first hand when she made the decision to make the move from the UK to Victoria in pursuit of a newly offered career opportunity. Emma eagerly accepted the position, having been assured of a $10,000 relocation allowance from her new employer.

5 months of working and multiple inquiries later, Emma was still yet to receive the promised payment in spite of her requests. Caught in a bureaucratic limbo and unsure of how to proceed, Emma sought assistance from the NPAA.

Emma was assigned one of our experienced case managers who, after discussing the issue with Emma, wrote a formal letter to the hospital outlining their obligations and emphasising the importance of fulfilling the promised relocation allowance.

With support from the NPAA Emma’s relocation allowance was paid in full within days of receiving the letter.
